Green Korea United Interview

GREEN KOREA UNITED
Green Korea United (Greenpeace Korea) was founded in 1991 and is an environmental organization that protects Korea's nature. It preserves the Baekdu-Daegan mountain range and the DMZ, which are the major ecological assets, and protects the habitats of wildlife. It monitors the areas that accelerate the climate crisis and works towards a world where energy is justly distributed, the earth is free of waste, and nature and humans coexist in harmony.
The organization is operated solely by citizen donations, as it receives 0% of government subsidies. Over 20,000 members nationwide work with Green Korea United to bring about a green lifestyle change and it collaborates with three specialized organizations - the Green Education Center, the Green Legal Center, and the "Small is Beautiful" publishing house - as well as nine regional organizations in Korea. A total of forty activists, who have an average of 10 years of experience with the organization, work together to grow and act on their commitment to green living
